Kendal, the place to be for festivals and fun this June

kendal events festivals

Although Kendal is a bustling market town and rarely quiet, it seems June 2016 is set to be a bumper month for events and festivals in and around it.

What’s On
Starting with the first weekend of the month June 4th and 5th with Country Fest 2016 on the Westmorland Country Show field at Crooklands. At Country Fest enjoy all things outdoor, county and country, food and farming. All this will be showcased alongside entertainment, dog show, food and craft stalls. New for 2016, A poultry Show on Saturday, rabbit Show on Sunday as well as a stunt show and a Lakeland Historic Car Club’s Parade of stunning vintage cars. It’s definitely an event for the whole family and a great day or full weekend out.

Two weeks later (June 18th and 19th) on the Country Show field once again, the CumbriaVAG Show & Shine Festival. A 2 day festival to satisfy any car nut and especially anyone with a VW or Audi. There’s DJ’s and music on Saturday night with Sunday’s highlight being the Volkswagon Car Show. Simply attend and wander around the pristine cars old and new or enter your car into the show.

Moving back into the centre of Kendal town and yet more chance to enjoy music outdoors, this time at The Brewery. On Sunday 19th June The Seals will be doing a Free Gig in the Garden at The Brewery Arts Centre. Definitely fingers crossed this fabulous weather will continue but if not, the Malt Room will become the stage. The gig will start from 1pm ending at 5pm and The Seals are sure to play plenty of their classic songs.
