The 2008 ETAG Conference - Edinburgh International Destination - Learning from International Best Practice saw sell out numbers attend to hear inspirational speakers from Vancouver, Gothenburg & Edinburgh.  Michael Hayman international destinations expert set the scene, clearly demonstrating that to be the consumers destination of choice Edinburgh needs a compelling story - only then will we truly be a "place where people want to be".

Paul Vallee, Tourism Vancouver delivered an inspirational piece which showcased his stunning city, bringing alive elements of the waterfront and how it has been developed alongside discussion about the cities funding mechanisms and how private industry lead and drive the cities strategy & development forward.  Claes Bjerkne then brought us an eloquent piece which showed his true passion for both his own city and Edinburgh, highlighting the need for a clear vision and true partnership working to deliver world class results.  Faith Liddell from Edinburgh's Festivals kept the audience on their toes by challenging them to look at the many opportunities festivals provide.
